Zurich Appoints Gillen Global Head of Marine Claims
Property/casualty insurance provider, Zurich, has named Steve Gillen as global head of Marine Claims.
Gillen will work closely with regional marine leadership and regional claims organizations to enhance Zurich’s claims proposition in support of the global marine specialty practice, and enhance claims capabilities in support of Zurich’s marine business.
Gillen has more than 25 years of extensive experience in marine claims and risk engineering, most recently serving as senior vice president and president, Chartis Marine Claims Adjusters Inc. Prior to his time at Chartis, Gillen held numerous senior level positions within the industry.
Additionally, he has served as chairman of the Service Committee for the American Institute of Marine Underwriters for the last eight years, and is an adjunct professor with the American Institute of Marine Underwriters. He also holds the designation of U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Master.
In his new role, Gillen will report to Chris Barnes, chief claims officer, Zurich Global Corporate.
