XL’s Marine Unit Adds Staff

XL’s North American Marine business expands its blue water hull risk management capabilities in New York with the addition of Siobhan Coen and Jeff Loechner as senior underwriters and Eileen Fellin as a senior claims consultant.

According to Rich DeSimone, president of XL Group’s North America Marine business, “Siobhan, Jeff and Eileen collectively add nearly six decades of hull underwriting, particularly in blue water hull coverages, and claims experience. With these strong additions to an already very talented and diverse marine underwriting and claims team, we’re boosting our hull capabilities to continue to provide a complete portfolio of marine coverages and dedicated claims assistance for our clients.”

Coen joins XL as a senior underwriter. She brings more than 19 years underwriting experience with her from the American Hull Insurance Syndicate. Coen is a member of the American Marine Insurance Forum and Average Adjusters Association.

Loechner joins XL as senior underwriter. He brings more than 10 years underwriting experience with him from the American Hull Insurance Syndicate. He is a graduate of the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York, where he majored in Logistics and Transportation. He holds a U.S. Coast Guard Third Mate License. He is a member of American Marine Insurance Forum, Association of Average Adjusters and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy Alumni Association

Fellin joins XL as a senior marine claims consultant. She brings more than 30 years marine claims experience. Most recently she was claims manager at the American Hull Insurance Syndicate where she spent the last fourteen years; prior to that she held claims consultant and claims management positions with national brokers. Fellin is a member and current Secretary of the Association of Average Adjusters in the U.S. She is a member of the Maritime Law Association, Association of Average Adjusters in the U.K., and corresponding member of the International Association of Average Adjusters.
