Claims People: Crawford & Co., Doan Group, Woodgate & Clark
Crawford & Co. has appointed Robert Simpson of president of carrier practices for Crawford Catastrophic Services in the United States.
He reports to Crawford Claims Solutions U.S. President Ken Tolson.
Tolson said in a press release that Simpson will be instrumental in developing new facilities and infrastructure in Allen, Texas. The company announced in May that it is leasing 70,000 square feet of office space for a regional field clim office and disaster recovery center in the Dallas suburb, according to a report in the Dallas Morning News. Crawford expects to employ 700 at the location.
Crawford is the world’s largest publicly-listed independent claims management provider.
Crawford said Simpson has held several leadership positions since joining the company in 1990 as an entry-level trainee adjuster. He was a regional and branch manager, a supervisor and an adjuster in charge, the company said.
Most recently, Simpson was senior vice president for national claims operations, where he was responsible for daily property and casualty claim operations in the US.
Simpson holds a bachelor of science in economics from Centre College in Danville, Ky, an associate in claims from the Institute and a Chartered Insurance Operations Professional designation.
Doan Group, a national independent auto, property and heavy equipment appraiser based in Covington, Ga., has appointed Roger Crowley as vice president of sales and operations.
Crowley previously was assistant vice president of sales and operations for Property Damage Appraisers, based in Fort Worth, Texas, according to his profile on LinkedIn. He has a degree in business management from the University of Maine.
The Doan Group was founded by Ronald Doan in Buffalo, NY in 1981. Doan died in 2015. His wife Sally now leads the company.
The Doan Group was purchased in July by Woodland Capital, which is headed by Tim Davis, owner of SCA Appraisal Co. Woodland said in a press release at the time that SCA and Doan Group will operate independently.
Woodgate & Clark, an independent adjusting firm in the United Kingdom, has appointed Marie Quinn as head of special investigations.
Quinn has 20 years experience as a senior fraud and financial crime manager in insurance. She will lead a team that provides fraud investigation services for clients in the UK, the company said in a press release.
Previously, Quinn worked for 18 years at RSA, where she was head of counter fraud. She began her career in West Midlands Police and progressed into the criminal investigations division, where she investigated serious crime across the region.After almost eight years she moved into the insurance sector, beginning a new chapter in financial services helping combat insurance fraud, the company said. She also has a Masters degree in Fraud Management.
