Chevrolets, Hyundai Among Most Affordable Trucks and SUVs to Insure, Mercury Says
Two Chevrolets and a Hyundai topped the list of the most affordable new trucks and SUVs to insure for 2025, according to a new list compiled by California-based Mercury Insurance.
Factors contributing to Mercury’s list included claims on similar vehicles, costs to repair and vehicle safety records. Mercury’s research and development team examined vehicles currently available at car dealerships.
The top 10 most affordable trucks to insure were:
- Chevrolet Colorado LT
- Chevrolet Silverado C3500
- Ford Maverick/Ford Ranger
- Hyundai Santa Cruz SE
- Toyota Tundra CrewMax
- Ford F150
- Toyota Tacoma
- Ford F350 Super Duty
- Dodge 1500/RAM Truck 1500
- GMC Canyon
The top 10 most affordable to insure SUVs were:
- Hyundai Sante Fe
- Honda Pilot
- Chevrolet Blazer
- Kia Sportage
- Honda Passport
- Ford Escape
- Kia Soul
- Honda HR-V
- Honda CR-V
- Kia Sorento
