AIG Opens New Data Center in Fort Worth
American International Group Inc. (AIG) announced the opening of a new 200,000 square foot data center facility in Forth Worth, Texas, by American International Group Data Center Inc. The new center will provide data recovery capabilities to AIG member companies.
“This new facility provides AIG companies with the enhanced data recovery and business continuity capabilities that are crucial components of managing the infrastructure needs of our global business,” said Mark Popolano, vice president and chief information officer, AIG.
The Fort Worth data center utilizes innovative data storage and replication technologies to manage data across the network and improve recovery time. The data center also features an extensive telecommunications infrastructure to support AIG companies’ business operations, including redundant Internet connectivity and a global e-messaging platform.
Through the new data center, applications are recoverable to the last business day, within 24 hours. The facility’s network architecture allows for a continuous near-time replication of data utilizing the latest technological advancements.
The Fort Worth data center will also increase the capacity of American International Technology Enterprises Inc. (doing business as AIG Technologies), a member company of AIG, to provide managed outsourcing solutions to third party clients. AIG Technologies (AIGT) provides data processing services to AIG and its member companies and is a leading supplier of insurance industry applications, data center managed operations and technology consulting services.
“The combined capabilities of AIGT’s existing New Jersey processing center and the new Fort Worth data center will provide AIGT clients with complete redundancy, disaster recovery and business continuity opportunities beyond the typical services available in the market today,” said Paul Madarasz, president, AIGT.
