La. Man Arrested for Insurance Card Fraud
Louisiana State Police arrested a New Orleans man on felony counts of forgery and insurance fraud for allegedly making and selling fake automobile insurance cards for $70 each, according to the Associated Press and the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Henry Rhodies’ arrest was the result of an investigation that began July 2 after employees at Geico Insurance Co. reported details of the alleged fraud scheme. The Geico employees reportedly told police they heard about the scheme from some people who had purchased laminated fake Geico insurance cards.
Investigators believe the fake cards were sold for about two years.
