Okla. Grand Jury Still Looking at Fisher
A state grand jury met Oct. 18 to continue its investigation into former Oklahoma Insurance Commissioner Carroll Fisher’s conduct, according to the Associated Press.
Fisher, who is planning to move to California, already faces three felony charges as a result of a grand jury’s probe. He resigned Sept. 24 instead of facing an impeachment trial.
Fisher has accepted a job in Southern California and will be moving there soon, his attorney, Robert L. Wyatt IV, said.
Grand jurors are looking into Fisher’s dealings with Texas businessman Gene Phillips.
Ron Akin, a Phillips associate, was scheduled to testify but did not show up. His attorney said Akin, who lives in Texas, had not been properly ordered to appear.
Grand jurors heard from David Momper, a real estate agent with RE/MAX Executives in Tulsa. Fisher’s wife, Karen, is a real estate agent there.
