Texas Workers’ Comp Division Improves Online System Forms
The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI), Division of Workers’ Compensation (Division) announced it has improved the functionality of more than 90 forms posted on the agency Web site, http://www.tdi.state.tx.us/wc/indexwc.html.
The changes will allow system participants to save electronic versions of the Portable Document Format (PDF) forms with completed fields for future use, modification or archiving. In the past, data entered into PDF forms on screen could only be saved by printing the form. Participants must use the software program Adobe Acrobat Reader, Version 7 or later, to open and save the new forms. The free software is available for download at: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
In April, the Division revised three employee forms and posted them in the new interactive format. Now, all forms for insurance carriers, health care providers, employers, employees and other system participants have been converted to the new format.
System participants are still required to submit hard copies of forms by fax or regular mail to the Division’s Austin Metro Center location. All forms should be either faxed to (512) 804-4378 or mailed to: TDI/DWC, 7551 Metro Center Drive, Ste. 100, MS-94, Austin, Texas 78744.
