Two Arrested on Sex Abuse Claim in Oklahoma
A Langston University professor and his wife were reported to have been arrested on complaints related to sexual abuse of a child.
Reza Ross Pourdavood, 53, was apparently named in seven complaints of sexual abuse of a child. He was arrested on Thursday and released Friday afternoon from the Oklahoma County jail on $70,000 bail.
Pourdavood has been working as a math professor at Langston University for nine years.
His wife, Leah Pourdavood, 40, a teacher at Jones Elementary School, is said to be facing one complaint of enabling sexual child abuse. She remained in jail Friday evening on $70,000 bail.
Edmond police said they were notified after the victim went to her high school counselor. The victim apparently told police the abuse had been going on for at least seven years.
