Arkansas Lodge Destroyed in Fire
A fire has destroyed the Majestic Lodge in Hot Springs, Ark., and firefighters are searching for the cause of the blaze.
Authorities say the fire started about 7 p.m. on May 23, leaving only the building’s fireplace standing. A Garland County Sheriff’s Department employee says the lodge was occupied when the fire started but 70 West Fire Chief Autumn Carlisle says there were no reported injuries.
Carlisle received a minor injury when an explosion from within the burning lodge blew wooden shrapnel toward firemen. One piece hit her in the leg but after the wound was bandaged, she continued operating a pumper truck.
