Louisiana Volunteer Firefighter Charged with Arson
A Webster Parish volunteer firefighter has been arrested in connection with two structure fires in Doyline.
Officials say 31-year-old Brandon Martin faces one count each of aggravated arson for damage to an apartment complex and simple arson for a blaze that destroyed a house.
Fire Marshal Butch Browning says the first fire happened March 22 at the North Park Apartments. Browning says the fire caused moderate damage to the office and laundry room.
The second blaze happened April 22.
Browning says investigators believe Martin acted alone and expect no other arrests.
He is being held without bond in the Webster Parish Jail.
Officials say Martin joined the volunteer staff of Webster Fire Protection District 3, which covers the Doyline area, two months ago.
