Former Oklahoma Attorney Sentenced for Workers’ Comp Fraud
A former Tulsa attorney has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and ordered to pay $700,000 in restitution for worker’s compensation fraud and embezzlement.
Attorney General Scott Pruitt said Tuesday that William Anton drew the sentence in Tulsa County District Court after reaching a plea agreement.
Anton pleaded guilty in March to three counts of embezzlement and one count for workers’ compensation fraud. He was accused of embezzling money between 2004 and 2009 from clients’ personal injury benefits, insurance settlements and workers’ compensation benefits.
Pruitt’s office says Anton’s alleged accomplice, Fred Schraeder, is to be tried Oct. 25 in Tulsa.
