Alarm Company Sued Over Arkansas Woman’s Death
The estate of an 81-year-old woman who was killed in her home has sued an alarm-system company, claiming an operator canceled an alarm call to police while the woman was being attacked.
The Benton County Daily Record reports the suit was filed by the estate of Louise Bishop, who disappeared in 2009 along with her daughter, Christina Bishop. Their bodies were found in February 2010 in a grave near Garfield, Ark.
An alarm system operated by Guard Tronic went off the night of Louise Bishop’s disappearance, but an employee testified that he canceled a call to police after receiving an abort signal from the home.
Bishop’s estate claims she was held at gunpoint and forced to cancel the alarm. An attorney for Guard Tronic declined to comment on the suit.
