Settlement Reached Over Death of Oklahoma Teen
An Oklahoma mother has reached a settlement in her lawsuit against the pharmacy where her 16-year-old son was fatally shot during an attempted robbery.
Cleta A. Jennings finalized the settlement Wednesday against Reliable Discount Pharmacy, where her son, Antwun Parker, was shot to death in 2009. Pharmacist Jerome Ersland is appealing his first-degree murder conviction.
The Oklahoman reports that details of the settlement are confidential. An attorney for the pharmacy’s insurance company says a check has already been given to Jennings’ attorneys.
Ersland did not pay any of the settlement and did not consent to it. He’s said he was defending himself and two co-workers when he shot Parker after he and another teenager came into the pharmacy wearing ski masks and demanding money and drugs.
