4 Arrested in Louisiana Mailbox Vandalism
West Feliciana Parish, La., sheriff’s deputies have arrested four men accused of vandalizing at least 42 mailboxes.
Sheriff J. Austin Daniel says the alleged incidents happened Sunday night and early Monday.
Daniel told The Advocate deputies caught the four suspects when a woman called the sheriff’s office to report that someone was beating on her mailbox early Monday.
Facing multiple felony counts of criminal damage to property are 18-year-old Matthew Morgan, 18-year-old Ty Gilleon and 19-year-old Alex Funderburg, all of St. Francisville; and 19-year-old Chance Edgens, of Zachary. Each also was booked with illegal possession of alcohol by a person under the age of 21.
The four are scheduled to appear before state District Judge William G. Carmichael on Tuesday to have bail set.
