Tracer Round Caused Texas Gun Range Fire
Authorities in Dallas say a fired tracer round may have sparked a four-alarm fire at a gun range near Love Field airport.
The fire Sunday afternoon forced a full evacuation at the DFW Gun Club and Training Center. Dallas Fire Rescue spokesman Jason Evans says fire investigators think the cause was a tracer round fired improperly at a backstop.
Patrons were evacuated as heavy black smoke could be seen coming from the range. Police kept onlookers at a distance out of caution for potentially explosive materials still inside the range.
Evans says no criminal charges will be fired against the person who shot the round.
One firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation. No injuries were reported.
