University of Central Oklahoma Selected as Co-Host of 2014 Tornado Summit
The University of Central Oklahoma has been selected as a co-host of the 2014 National Tornado Summit.
The summit serves as a forum for national and state experts to meet and recommend new policies to improve emergency management, preparedness and response and recovery techniques, among other skills.
More than 800 emergency managers, policymakers, insurance agents and weather experts from 28 states attended the last summit.
The 2014 summit is Feb. 10-11 at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.
Oklahoma was hit particularly hard this storm season, with two, top-of-the severity scale EF5 tornadoes, which killed dozens and injured hundreds more.
