Several Houston School Buses Burn in Barn Fire
Several school buses operated by a Houston-area school district have been damaged or destroyed during a blaze at the vehicle barn.
Conroe Fire Department officials say nobody was hurt in the blaze that broke out around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Conroe Independent School District bus barn. One bus was destroyed and at least three were damaged.
Fire Chief Michael Gosselin says crews arrived within minutes of the fire and extinguished the blaze. Authorities are trying to determine what sparked the fire at a time when the bus barn is normally unoccupied. About 100 buses usually park at the barn.
Conroe ISD officials say arrangements were being made to pick up all students as usual Wednesday. School district officials didn’t immediately provide more details.
