Five Louisiana Residents Sentenced for Auto Accident Insurance Fraud
Federal prosecutors say five northwest Louisiana residents have been sentenced to up to 14 months in prison for staging car accidents for fraudulent insurance claims.
U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley says three are from Arcadia, in Bienville Parish, and two from nearby Athens, in Claiborne Parish.
U.S. District Judge Maurice Hicks Jr. sentenced them Wednesday and Thursday in Shreveport.
The longest prison term, 14 months, went to 42-year-old Bobby Lee Kimble of Athens on charges of conspiracy, wire fraud, and health care fraud.
Thirty-three-year-old Larry Kimble, of Athens, was sentenced to 13 months in prison for conspiracy and wire fraud and ordered to repay $7,463.
The others got five years’ probation, one day in prison, and four months in prison.
Codefendant Damario Henderson of Homer is to be sentenced Dec. 18.
