Michael Clingman Joins WCRI As Regional Director
The Workers Compensation Research Institute (WCRI) announced that Michael Clingman will be joining WCRI in January as a regional director. Clingman will be based in Oklahoma.
“Mike joins our new team of three regional directors who will be the face of WCRI in many states, helping public officials and diverse stakeholders better use WCRI studies,” said Ramona Tanabe, WCRI deputy director and counsel. “These regional directors will also contribute to adding significant new revenues to help expand our research to more states.”
Most recently, Clingman served as administrator of the Oklahoma Workers’ Compensation Court. Prior to that, he held a number of executive positions in state government and the private sector, including CEO of the Oklahoma State Insurance Fund, Oklahoma state budget director, Oklahoma Secretary of the Senate, Secretary of the Oklahoma State Election Board, CEO of the Arkansas Workers’ Compensation Commission, and he directed the property-casualty lines of an insurer.
At WCRI, Clingman will be responsible for relationships, revenues, and the impact of studies in a dozen states. He will work collaboratively with researchers on studies, and help public officials and stakeholders to apply the findings of relevant WCRI studies to local public policy debates.
The Cambridge-based WCRI is an independent, non-partisan research center that is recognized as a leader in providing high-quality, objective information about public policy issues involving workers’ compensation systems.
