Louisiana Sheriff Finds Dead Burglar in Oven Vent
Authorities in a New Orleans suburb say a business owner arrived at work to find the legs of dead man dangling from an oven vent in the building’s kitchen.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office says the discovery was made Saturday morning by the owner of Greg’s Food Mart in Marrero.
The dead man had apparently tried to gain access to the business through a vent opening in the roof. The sheriff’s office says it was an apparent burglary attempt.
The man was identified Saturday evening as 44-year-old Ken Singleton, with addresses in Marrero and Gretna. An autopsy was planned to determine the cause of death.
