Ala. Church Damaged by Fire, No Injuries Reported
A fire late Wednesday afternoon resulted in major damage to the sanctuary at First Baptist Church in Fairhope, Alabama.
Fairhope Fire Department responded to the fire at 300 South Section Street at 5:39 p.m., after a church staff member discovered the fire and reported it. The portion of the sanctuary damaged by the fire was being renovated however workmen had already left for the day.
Investigators with the Fairhope Fire and Police Departments and the Alabama State Fire Marshals Office say the investigation is continuing into the cause and circumstances of the fire.
