W. Va. WCC Purchases Medata System
Medata, a national provider of bill review software and services for property/casualty insurers, state compensation funds, self-insured employers and third party administrators, announced that the West Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission has signed a $2.6 million contract for the purchase and installation of Medata’s medical bill processing system.
WVCC Executive Director Gregory Burton explained, “Improving our efficiency in medical billing and payment will encourage more providers, particularly specialists, to accept workers’ compensation patients in all areas of the state.”
The new Medata medical bill processing system will reportedly make it easier for health care providers to submit invoices and check on the status of payments. Burton noted, “The new Medata billing system will result in a more logical and streamlined business process.”
