March 15, 2005

Georgia-based Verastar salvage auto auctions announced the successful roll-out of a new version of the company Web site at http://www.verastar.com/ .

The new site provides a streamlined Internet bidding process, enhanced vehicle search features, additional detail on vehicles, additional personalized pages for each buyer and other amenities, such as links to domestic and international transport companies. The site also provides new features for vehicle sellers, including features which allow insurance companies to capture data online for owner retained vehicles and unrecovered thefts.

“Verastar has been investing in cutting-edge technology since the development of the first generation of our proprietary system in 1985,” said Co-Principal Janet Covey. “Our Web site is real time and fully integrated with our internal system, providing our customers both ease of use and comprehensive management of their account information.

“The buyer portion of our new Web site, like our previous one, is available in Spanish as well as English. To our knowledge, Verastar offers the only fully bilingual Web site in our industry. With 48% of our sales going to out-of-state and out-of-country buyers, it is particularly important to provide services that make it easy to buy from Verastar.”

Verastar provides full-service salvage asset management and live salvage auctions, both onsite at facilities located in Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Tennessee and over the World Wide Web.
