FAIA Convention, ‘The Power of One,’ Begins June 23 in Orlando, Fla.
Excitement is building as the opening nears for the June 23 to 25 Florida Association of Insurance Agents 101st Anniversary Convention and Education Symposium titled “The Power of One,” begins at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
The convention will feature four presentations during June 24 general sessions: “A View on Success,” by Roger Looyenga, CEO of Auto-Owners Insurance, will discuss the many challenges that Florida agents face, including decreased commission levels and increased workloads; “L’eadership: R.O.I. by Raymond C. Thomas, CEO of Zurich North America Small Business, with an interactive presentation exploring the key ingredients of Leadership and hints for “brushing up” on the Leadership Challenge; “The Power of One Brand—Trusted Choice,” featuring a panel session in which experts will discuss the evolution of the Trusted Choice Brand; and “The Art of the Steal,” presented by Frank Abagnale a security expert and authority on forgery, embezzlement and secure documents.
“I continue to be amazed at the momentum our annual convention has experienced during the last several years,” Jeff Grady, FAIA president and CEO told Insurance Journal. “In an era when these types of meetings are falling off, FAIA’s just keeps getting bigger and better by just about any measurement.
“I think it has a lot to do with the format that our members changed a few years ago,” Grady explained. “Rather than just a nice party, today’s FIAA convention is one where business gets done.”
The exhibit hall was sold out more than a month before the conference date, with more than 200 exhibitors, the largest number in the association’s history. The exhibit hall will feature a popular area in which exhibitors will demonstrate products and services.
An association spokesperson said attendees will gain insights to enable them to become more valuable to their agency or company and better prepare you for the future of the insurance industry. Attendees will have an opportunity to earn up to 12 hours of CE credits at breakout sessions led by first-class presenters.
Each year in June, FAIA holds a convention featuring presentations by industry experts, networking opportunities and numerous education classes presented by a well-known staff of instructors. FAIA’s mission is to serve Florida insurance agents by promoting a healthy and competitive insurance environment.
FAIA is a nonprofit state trade association of insurance agencies affiliated with the Independent Insurance Agents of America and 22 local boards across Florida.
