Miss. DRC to Close on Sundays
State and federal officials announced that Disaster Recovery Centers throughout the state of Mississippi will be closed Sundays, starting Oct. 23. Hours for Monday through Saturday will remain 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The schedule will remain in effect until further notice.
People affected by Hurricane Katrina are urged to register for assistance before visiting a Disaster Recovery Center by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or by going online at www.fema.gov. The TTY number is 1-800-462-7585 for those who are speech- or hearing-impaired. Those seeking assistance may visit any Disaster Recovery Center.
Representatives of state, federal and voluntary agencies are on hand at Disaster Recovery Centers to answer questions and provide recovery information.
Officials from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) are available to discuss disaster loans for homeowners, renters and businesses of any size. Written materials about various assistance programs are also available to individuals and business owners.
