Montgomery Insurance Issues Hurricane Guide, Teams on Stand By
Southeast residents should be prepared in case a hurricane threatens the U.S. and according to Michael Plavnicky, Montgomery Insurance president and CEO, his company is fully prepared. Montgomery has issued a six-page, full-color “Hurricane Disaster Planning Guide” and at the same time has mobile teams ready to be dispatched to southeast states.
In the event of catastrophic losses in the southeast, Montgomery Insurance mobile claims teams will be strategically dispatched to the centers of storm-damaged regions to ensure prompt and accurate claims service.
Hurricane preparation and loss prevention are emphasized the disaster planning guide, published and available online from the Montgomery Insurance, a member of the Liberty Mutual Group.
The guide helps policyholders develop an action plan for possible evacuation, details what necessities should go into an emergency kit, and explains the importance of doing a household inventory and lists other important safety tips.
“We want our policyholders to be as ready as they can be to get out of harm’s way and that starts with careful planning well in advance of a storm,” Plavnicky explained. “Knowing that you have adequate coverage for your property is also an important part of disaster planning and our independent agents are ready to assist our policyholders in evaluating their individual needs.”
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has projected a very active hurricane season for the north Atlantic. Of the eight to 10 named storms predicted to become hurricanes, NOAA projects that four to six could be Category 3 strength or higher.
Montgomery Insurance offers property and casualty products, including a comprehensive set of personal and commercial coverage, distributed only through appointed independent agents. Headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., Montgomery Insurance employs more than 300 people and operates in Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia with additional offices in Georgia and Maryland.
The guide is available on the Montgomery Insurance Consumer website at www.montgomery-ins.com.
