3 New Faces on Fla.’s Citizens’ Board of Governors
Two insurance industry experts and a former state insurance department general counsel are the newest appointments to the Citizens Property Insurance Corp. board of governors.
Andrea “Andy” Bennett, owner of a Sarasota consulting company specializing in insurance regulatory issues, and Allan Katz, a Tallahassee attorney and former Department of Insurance general counsel, were appointed by state CFO Alex Sink.
Carol Everhart, vice president of BB&T in Tampa, has 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry and was appointed by Senate President Ken Pruitt.
Bennett and Katz replace John Collins, co-owner of a Ft. Lauderdale commercial construction company, and Carlos Lacasa, an attorney and former state representative from Miami.
Everhart replaces board member Cheryl Herrin, a vice president with State Farm Florida who resigned in February.
