Early Morning Blaze in Alabama Guts 6 Units
Six units of a Birmingham, Alabama apartment building were damaged in an early morning fire.
Firefighters were summoned twice to the Cedar Tree Apartments on 18th Avenue North on Aug. 12.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel said the first blaze started in a laundry room just before 3 a.m. It was quickly extinguished.
Firefighters had to return about 90 minutes later when a second fire erupted and spread to six apartments that were occupied. All the residents escaped and were not injured.
