Alabama State Troopers Launch Highway Safety Blitz
Alabama state troopers have started their newest version of the “Take Back Our Highways” safety program.
The 24-hour-a-day traffic blitz started last Wednesday and runs until Nov. 26. Assistant Public Safety Director F.A. Bingham says every available state troopers is on the highways, and troopers are focusing impaired drivers.
Bingham said drunken driving increases during the holidays because there’s more traffic on the roads, the holidays are conducive to more alcohol use, and it’s hunting season.
State troopers plan another “Take Back Our Highways” program for the week before Christmas.
