Olive Branch Restaurant Settles Mississippi Sexual Harassment Claim
An Olive Branch fast food restaurant will have to fork out $40,000 to three former employees and offer sexual harassment prevention training to its current and new employees. That’s according to a settlement agreement on file in a federal court in Oxford.
The agreement comes nearly one year after the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a civil rights lawsuit in U.S. District Court against Sonic Drive-in in Olive Branch.
The lawsuit alleged that restaurant assistant manager Richard Frey verbally and physically harassed three female employees.
It also accused the business of failing to respond to a complaint from one of the employees, Patience Hunt.
According to the settlement, Hunt will receive $27,500, for lost wages and suffering. The other employees are set to receive $2,500 and $10,000.
