Kentucky Zoo Facing Lawsuits Over Derailed Miniature Train
Five families have joined together in the second lawsuit filed against the Louisville Zoo over a miniature train derailment that injured 22 people.
The Courier-Journal reported the lawsuit was filed in Jefferson Circuit Court in Louisville.
It includes 12 passengers from Marion County who were on the train when it derailed June 1, causing the passenger cars to topple over.
The first lawsuit was filed Wednesday by Amy and Darren Bamforth
of Charlestown, Ind., also in Jefferson Circuit Court.
Both lawsuits claim the zoo was negligent in its maintenance and operation of the train.
A zoo spokeswoman says she cannot comment on pending litigation.
The derailment remains under investigation by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.
