Unclaimed Insurance Funds, Property Available at Mississippi State Fair
Mississippi state Treasurer Tate Reeves says his unclaimed property booth will be set up at the Mississippi State Fair.
Reeves said he’s trying to return over $45 million to over 300,000 state residents, and he’s hopeful fair-goers will stop by the booth to find out if some that money belongs to them.
The Unclaimed Property booth is located in the central bay inside the Trademart on the fairgrounds until Oct. 18, when the fair closes.
Businesses such as banks, savings and loan companies, insurance companies, and travelers’ check companies are required by law to report unclaimed funds to the state treasury after the money has been dormant for five years.
