Suit Filed against Alabama Gaming Facility
A new lawsuit alleges that VictoryLand owner Milton McGregor and companies that supply his electronic bingo machines have rigged the machines to cheat customers.
The suit claims the machines have been set up to return billions of dollars to McGregor and the machine owners at the expense of customers and charities that are supposed to receive a cut of the money that goes through VictoryLand. It seeks at least $75,000 in damages for each of the more than 850 customers named as plaintiffs.
The suit was filed in federal court by the same lawyer who previously sued in state court alleging that McGregor rigged machines at VictoryLand to pay former Birmingham Mayor Larry Langford $1.6 million in bribes. He restates those allegations in the suit filed this week.
