Fire That Burned Cars at South Carolina Church Not Arson
Authorities say a fire that burned nearly a dozen vehicles at a large South Carolina church was an accident.
Multiple media outlets reported the fire started around 11:30 a.m. Sunday at NewSpring Church in Anderson County.
No one was hurt.
Officials say the fire started under the hood of a pickup and spread to nearby vehicles. Five vehicles were destroyed and six others were damaged.
Senior Pastor Perry Noble says the fire did not disrupt the church service and he didn’t know about it until after the service concluded. Firefighters said there was no danger to 2,400 people in the church.
