Toddler Falls Off Second-floor Balcony in Orlando
A toddler suffered head injuries after falling from a second-floor balcony at the University of Central Florida’s Millican Hall.
Orange County Fire Rescue officials say the incident happened just before 3 p.m. Tuesday. He was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando.
University spokesman Chad Binette says the 18-month-old child was with his father and two other children when he ran toward the railing. The child hit a window ledge and then fell to the ground.
Binette says after the accident, workers installed a Plexiglas barrier to cover the area until permanent repairs can be made.
