Changes to North Carolina’s Workers’ Comp Law on the Horizon
A legislative committee is continuing work on legislation easing the responsibility of North Carolina employers for workers compensation claims.
A state House committee is taking up the measure Thursday.
Employers want to limit their liability for workplace injuries.
Opponents object to a provision that would give employers, their attorneys and their insurers access to the medical records and doctor of an injured worker seeking compensation. Workers also would have a harder time choosing the physician treating them.
