Motorcycle Theft Ring Busted in Florida
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies have busted a motorcycle theft ring involving at least $350,000 worth of bikes.
Officials announced Thursday that three men have been arrested and charged with felonies ranging from grand theft to falsifying official documents.
Deputies said that in January they identified the theft ring, which was stealing motorcycles and altering the bikes’ vehicle identification numbers and creating false documents so that valid titles could be obtained.
The bikes then were sold for fair market value on the Craigslist website. Deputies have recovered 22 motorcycles. Twelve of the bikes will be reunited with their owners Thursday.
