Georgia Insurance Agent Pleads Guilty to Insurance Fraud
Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens said a Macon insurance agent has pled guilty to insurance fraud charges.
Broadus W. Marshall Jr., 58, was sentenced to ten years of probation, ordered to pay restitution, and do community service. Marshall also voluntarily surrendered his license as part of the plea agreement.
Marshall, was indicted on 7 counts of insurance fraud for allegedly keeping premiums paid to him for auto and business liability insurance. Marshall was a licensed insurance agent for Marshall Insurance Agency, 2942 Vineville Avenue, Macon.
“This type of fraud is nothing new,” Hudgens said. “The outcome is always the same. Whenever agents are tempted to keep premium money, they should realize that sooner or later they’re going to get caught.”
