4 Accused in Mississippi Chevron Refinery Thefts
Three people suspected of stealing equipment and trucks from Chevron’s Pascagoula Refinery, in Mississippi, were in custody, a fourth was still being sought.
Sheriff Mike Byrd told the Sun Herald the investigation was launched Jan. 3 after reports of thefts of several pieces of equipment, along with one of Chevron’s Ford F-150 pickup trucks.
The investigation expanded to include deputies from the Mobile County Sheriff’s Department after a vehicle matching the description of the stolen truck fled a traffic stop. The sheriff says authorities identified the truck’s driver as Harold Russell Roche of Wilmer, Ala. He remained at large Friday afternoon.
The sheriff says security officers caught Vernon Dale Bohannon and Brad Jason Long, on the Chevron property attempting to steal a generator .The fourth suspect is Steven Jason George.
