12 Graduate From Tennessee Firefighter Academy
Twelve recruits will graduate Friday from the Tennessee Fire Service and Codes Enforcement Academy in Bedford County.
The 12 have been trained in victim rescues, hazardous fuel spills, live fires and other situations. They represent fire departments in Cookeville, Millersville, Gallatin, Lexington, Selmer and volunteer fire departments representing Altamont, Karns, the Southeast Community and the Chattanooga Airport.
The graduates are in the 27th class since the academy opened in Bedford County in 2001.
Julie Mix McPeak, commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance, will deliver the commencement address.
