Woman Suffers Major Back Injury in Georgia Tubing Mishap
Authorities say a woman was flown to an Atlanta, Ga., hospital after suffering a major back injury while tubing on Lake Lanier.
Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell tells The Times of Gainesville that the woman was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital on Monday afternoon.
She was identified as 31-year-old Angie Jenkins of Woodstock.
Mark Padgett of the Department of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources says she was riding on the tube pulled by a boat when her tube hit the wake created by another boat.
Liz Starkey, a DNR spokeswoman, says Jenkins was being pulled at about 25 to 30 mph at the time.
