Boy Hurt in Fall From Condo Balcony at Alabama Beach
A 3-year-old boy is recovering from injuries after he fell from a balcony at a beachfront condominium complex in Gulf Shores, Ala.
WKRG-TV reports the boy was playing on the balcony at Harbor House condominiums when the railing gave way and he fell about 8 feet onto concrete below. Amy Coleman, who is vacationing in the same complex, says she ran over when she saw the bleeding boy being held by his mother.
Emergency responders took the boy, whose name was not released, to a hospital after he fell Thursday. Officials say he is in stable condition.
On Friday the two balcony rails that failed had been replaced and reinforced with extra security screws. The condo was empty except for a cleaning crew.
