FAIR Health Selected by Kentucky DWC to Reform Workers’ Comp Program
FAIR Health and the Commonwealth of Kentucky Department of Workers’ Claims (DWC) today announced that FAIR Health has been selected to help amend the fee schedule used for Kentucky physicians in that state’s workers’ compensation program. The schedule is widely used for regulating workers’ compensation medical payments.
FAIR Health, a non-profit with a comprehensive national database of healthcare charge data, will work with the Kentucky DWC to assess and develop an updated medical fee schedule for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
FAIR Health’s expert staff will be responsible for the review of the Commonwealth’s current fee schedule and analysis around the current fee schedule for physicians’ billed charges and insurers’ allowed amounts in the same geographic region. Because FAIR Health’s data products organize physician billed charges by percentile, fee levels can be calibrated based upon the needs of the Commonwealth and the stakeholders involved in its workers’ compensation program.
