Tree Damages Building Used in Snow Camp Dramas
Managers of two outdoor dramas in Snow Camp, N.C., say the shows will start this week on time even though a tree damaged one of the main set pieces.
The tree fell Sunday during a storm on a set piece for “The Sword of Peace” and “Pathway to Freedom,” which open Thursday and Friday, respectively. The tree damaged the roof and walls of a building that’s used as the Cane Creek Meeting House in “The Sword of Peace” and as a schoolhouse in “Pathway to Freedom.”
No one was on set when the tree fell as the actors were on a dinner break.
Snow Camp Outdoor Theatre operational manager Chelsey Wilson says workers with a tree service company removed the part that fell on the building.
Dress rehearsals begin Wednesday.
