Miami Police Boats Burglarized, $19K in Losses
Miami Police say three of their patrol boats have been broken into.
Authorities released a statement Sunday afternoon saying they discovered the Miami Police Patrol Unit vessels had been the target of thieves. They say the lower units of the boats were stolen, amounted to $18,000 in losses.
The boats were being worked on by a mechanic late Friday afternoon at the Miami Yacht Club. When he returned Sunday, he noticed the break-in.
An investigation is ongoing.
