Florida Motorists Urged to Use Caution as Schools Open
Motorists across Florida are urged to use caution on the roads as students across Florida return to school.
Many schools across the state are opening their doors this week.
Police agencies urge drivers to slow down in school zones and to be on the lookout for students who are crossing roads. Also, drivers are asked to watch out for school buses and to observe all traffic laws.
Depending on the district, schools are typically open from around 7 a.m. through 4 p.m.
Authorities say traffic will be heavy, especially during the first week. So drivers are reminded to add a little extra time to their commutes.
