ISC TO HOLD MOLD-RELATED WORKSHOPS
Insurance Skills Center (ISC) recently announced it has developed two new workshops that address the growing concern over insurance implications of toxic mold claims and recent court decisions. This past year saw a significant increase in mold claims on both homeowners and commercial lines policies. Some carriers have seen an increase of prior water-loss activity on new businesses for losses occurred and repaired prior to mold being an issue, thereby increasing the potential for a future loss as a result of improper remediation. The four-hour “Water Intrusion and Mold Liability” class examines coverage for such claims under homeowners, commercial property, general liability, life/health and other policies. The “Recent Court Decisions—You be the Judge” seminar examines significant court decisions that have influenced today’s insurance marketplace. Both classes are approved for four CE credits in California and Washington for property/casualty and life licenses. Classes will be held at the following locations: Apr. 8-Santa Barbara; May 6-Novato, Calif; June 10-Diamond Bar, Calif; Oct. 29-Bellevue, Wash; Nov. 5-San Diego. The fee is $85 (one class) or $150 (both classes). Visit www.insuranceskillscenter.com to download the brochure or register online.
