At least 10 people were killed and many more injured Wednesday morning outside of Los Angeles as two trains collided.
According to authorities, a suicidal man parked his vehicle on the tracks, causing the commuter train collision. The man, who reportedly watched the collision, was not injured and will likely be charged with homicide.
A spokeswoman for the commuter line, Metrolink, said a Metrolink train impacted the car at a railroad crossing, collided with another Metrolink train and crashed into a parked Union Pacific train.
According to the Glendale Fire Department, more than 75 agencies are involved in the rescue and recovery, including some from Pasadena and Burbank. Firefighters were reportedly trying to reach passengers believed to be trapped in the debris.
