NTSB Releasing Factual Reports on Ore. Capsizing
As part of its continuing investigation into the capsizing of the small passenger charter fishing vessel Taki-Tooo in the Pacific Ocean near the entrance to Tillamook Bay, Oregon, the National Transportation Safety Board was opening a public docket and releasing a series of factual reports on Friday.
On June 14, 2003, the 36-foot charter fishing vessel was leaving Tillamook Bay for a fishing trip with 19 persons aboard when it capsized. Eleven people, including the captain, died in the accident.
The information being released comprises approximately 1,300 pages, is factual in nature and does not provide any analysis. It was to include investigative group reports, photos, interview transcripts and other documents from the investigation. Additional information may be added to the docket as it becomes available.
A final report on the accident investigation, along with conclusions and a determination of probable cause, is expected to be issued in early summer.
